Emergencies

In case of a dental emergency please call our office at 207.985.2800 for further instructions on how to reach our

on-call clinic staff member.

How are Appointments Scheduled?

The office attempts to schedule appointments at your convenience and when time is available. Preschool children should be seen in the morning because they are fresher and we can work more slowly with the child for their comfort. School children with a lot of work to be done should be seen in the morning for the same reason. Dental appointments are an excused absence. Missing school can be kept to a minimum when regular dental care is continued.

When we make an appointment, we reserve a room and a provider for your child’s particular dental needs. We ask that if you must change an appointment, please call the office within 48 hours of your scheduled appointment. The office will have a $75.00 fee for not showing up for your scheduled appointment time. Repeated cancellations or missed appointments will result in loss of future appointment privileges or dismissal from the practice.

A parent or legal guardian must be present at their child's dental appointment. If a parent or guardian is unable to be at the appointment you must send in a written letter signed and dated. This letter must give the name of who is accompanying the minor as well as permission for our doctors to treat and share any dental concerns or needs about your child. This letter will also allow whoever is here to make medical emergency decisions if one should happen.

A release form is available through the office to be faxed or e-mailed.

We are especially interested in making all our patients feel right at home! We put your needs first to achieve efficient and comprehensive treatment. Our staff is trained and skilled, and we strive to provide energetic and fun-loving service to each patient. Each member of our treatment team has expanded duty dental assistant certification, and our office staff has years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care. We strive to stay abreast of the very latest in technology and advances by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars.

Do I Stay with My Child During the Visit?

We ask that you come back to the chair during the appointment.

Insurance & Payment Procedures

Dental care for children is an important part of their total health program. We believe that caring for your child's teeth should not become a financial burden for you. In the event that full payment is not possible at the time services are rendered, we have some payment methods that may assist you. We also accept most insurance carriers. Please call if you have insurance questions.

If you have dental insurance, you are aware that these plans vary greatly. We will help you review your benefits. For your convenience, we also accept major credit cards.

We strive for on-time

appointments to get you back to your day.

PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY

Dr. Creisher and Dr. Hatton are Pediatric Dental Specialists.

A pediatric dentist is a general dentist who has received an extra two years of training in school and at a children’s hospital residency. As pediatric dentist, Dr. Creisher and Dr. Hatton  are highly qualified to treat your children’s beautiful smiles. As a pediatric dental specialist, our practice is limited to infants, toddlers, adolescents as well as those with special healthcare needs.

Everyone at York County Pediatric Dentistry uses a lot of positive reinforcement and child friendly descriptions to help your child feel at ease during their dental procedure. We make recommendations depending on the child’s age, ability to cooperate, and amount of treatment needed. The treatments provided take the dental needs and behavioral aspects into consideration.

FIRST VISIT

The American Academy of Pediatrics, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association recommends that your child be seen for their first dental visit by the time they reach one year old. Let your child’s first tooth remind you that it’s time for them to see Dr. Creisher or

Dr. Hatton. Early prevention and education is crucial at this time. The first visit includes a review of your child’s medical and dental history and an initial examination. At this time, we will “count your child’s teeth.”  After a comprehensive examination, we will discuss our dental findings with you. Dental x-rays or “pictures,” if necessary are also taken to ensure a thorough examination followed by oral hygiene instruction to emphasize proper oral health care.

All aspects of a preventive dental health program including diet, hygiene and fluoride will also be discussed. It is always better to make a first dental appointment before your child has a dental problem. By establishing a dental home for your children, they are more likely to receive appropriate preventive and routine oral health care as they grow from infants through their teenage years. At York County Pediatric Dentistry, we encourage you to be an active member of your child’s oral health care.

Please print and fill out our new patient forms and bring them completed with your insurance card to your first appointment.
